The Final Two weeks

The deadline for handing work to Tern is drawing closer... I still have some bits and pieces to finish off. Im still working on development fo the interface, and trying to have at least 2 sample models of The Cybrspace and Urban environments. If not for Tern (30th April), then for the project submission ( 10th May)

Here is another couple of screen shots of an interface idea showing considering the theme, and how content could be placed.

I'm Meeting again with Kirstie tomorow between 12 and 1. We need to have a meeting with Sarah to talk about how we could encorporate her final Blood Lawyers logo.

Interface meeting

kirstie and myself worked on brainstorming interface ideas, and have came to a conclusion for further development(4 hours), considering navigation and design. We have made some rough mock ups using flash, and will discuss these in Fridays meeting with the rest of the group(11am). I have emailed Sarah about coming up with a animated intro of the Blood Lawyers logo, and will consider our design theme surrounding the logo so the design will complement it. These are screenshots of my contribution. We are also goign to meet up next wednesday (1pm)

Tern Feedback

The main thing we want as a deliverable is a clearly ordered and well labelled bible to accompany the Blood Lawyers project. This should be laid out with descriptive elements - for instance, our character work for Aga alongside her character description. The various logo varieties and branding within the environment.

We need these laid out well, so they can be used as the companion to the selling page.

As far as the motion comic side. All we need here is your storyboards and one worked up scene from each. No need to animate them, unless you want to have a go and impress us.

At the moment, I think the one thing that really needs work is the Ach-aye-pad interface. I think the whole team should brainstorm this for a bit, and when it has been agreed on, get one of the more accomplished artists to work it up (okay if a couple of people want to try this - differences in style are good at this stage).

The same is important for the structures. Can you have them polished up a bit.

So, in short, your end product is a 'bible' that can be taken and read over by someone other than us and it will paint the world for them. We can assume they have some knowledge of the story - but that doesn't mean we can skip over the descriptives. We can also assume they have an idea of the direction we're taking in the Blood Lawyers (ie a different focus than than the book, and a story that runs in parallel that contains many of the same characters).

hope all that makes sense. I'm hoping to take the idea to the BBC in a couple of weeks, so your timeframe works well with mine. Think all the work has been great so far -obviously we've been working on a 'big' idea, which is why there's been so much fleshing out up front.

Give me a call / drop me an email if you need anything else,

Simon

Diary Continued/Tern Meeting

No update from Tern; We now need to decide what we are doing for individual submission of the project. I'm going to be continuing to work on Interface design concepts for the website, along with producing some Photoshop mock - ups. All the environment design concepts up till now will be refined, and 3D mock up's of my final ideas for the Cyberspace, Rural, VINECORP, and Urban environments for VINE will be built and hopefully textured. I will also show mini animation's of the camera moving through the environments with sound, as well as 3 final shots from my interpretation of the motion comic storyboard concepts, and finally all the concept work throughout the duration of the project. My journey of this project will be submitted in the form of a powerpoint, and this blog/diary. My best work will be mounted onto board for overall presentation.
